Get your triathlon kit right!
With the London triathlon now only 2 weeks away, most of your training should be done and you should be making plans for the big day. Personally I’m looking forward to competing on closed roads around our impressive capital city.
The event packs with numbers have been sent out and the wave start times are on the website: www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk .
Triathlon Transitions
With about four weeks to go to the London Triathlon, I’m sure that all of your training for the three disciplines is progressing well. Hopefully the swimming is getting easier, the cycling faster and the running stronger. But what about the fourth and fifth disciplines -the dreaded transitions where you change from swim to bike and bike to run? These are both areas that can either cost you or save you a lot of time. With a little practise and organisation you can be out of transition a long time before those who enter transition with you.
Enter the London Triathlon and Bring Power to the People!
During the last few months the staff at Renewable World have been to some far flung places including Nicaragua and Nepal. Their work in areas such as these enables communities in often remote part of the country to generate power from whatever natural resources are available to them. The income from the various fundraising events that Renewable World organises, such as the London Triathlon goes a long way to funding some of these schemes. Below are some examples of what your fundraising could provide:
Triathlon training basics
It finally looks like Spring has arrived (or is it another false alarm?). With the London Triathlon about four and a half months away, now is the time to start your training (if you haven’t already). This blog is intended for all those doing the triathlon on behalf of Renewable World. I’m sure there will be a wide range of abilities and different sporting experiences so I will try and include something for everyone.
GB Triathlete shares his experiences!
In the last blog I mentioned that I would start by telling you about my first triathlon. There is a saying in business that poor preparation equals poor performance (the actual saying isn’t that polite, but I’m sure you’ll know what I mean). The same is true in triathlon.

GB Age Group Triathlete Supports Renewable World
As I’m sure you are aware Renewable World are again using the London Triathlon to raise funds for their small scale renewable energy projects that tackle poverty in developing countries.
